The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 1,084% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Haiti (X units), Turks and Caicos Islands (X units) and the United States (X units) were the main destinations of plastic shutters and blinds exports from the Dominican Republic, together accounting for 62% of total exports.

Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 150% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
