Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 977%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, non-reinforced rubber tubing imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 851%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of non-reinforced rubber tubing to the Dominican Republic, with a 58% share of total imports. Moreover, non-reinforced rubber tubing imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X tons), twofold. Malaysia (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 3.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China amounted to +11.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (-13.6% per year) and Malaysia (+3.5% per year).
