As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, leveling off in the following year.

In value terms, enamels and glazes imports expanded rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a measured expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 195% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In 2021, Brazil (X tons) was the main supplier of enamels and glazes to the Dominican Republic, with a 92% share of total imports. Moreover, enamels and glazes imports from Brazil exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X tons), more than tenfold.
