Moreover, Taiwan (Chinese) emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +23.4% from 2012-2021. While the share of China (+19 p.p.) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+5.3 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Japan (-25 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest antisera importing markets in Eastern Asia were China ($X), Japan ($X) and South Korea ($X), together comprising 94% of total imports. These countries were followed by Taiwan (Chinese) and Hong Kong SAR, which together accounted for a further 5.7%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Taiwan (Chinese), with a CAGR of +24.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, falling by -4.8% against the previous year. Import price indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
