Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, baby clothes imports reduced to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a perceptible contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 12%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Japan represented the key importing country with an import of around X tons, which accounted for 61% of total imports. South Korea (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 17% share, followed by China (9.2%), Hong Kong SAR (7%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (4.5%).
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to baby clothes imports into Japan stood at -1.2%. At the same time, Taiwan (Chinese) (+8.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. The second position in the ranking was held by South Korea ($X), with a 22% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with a 16% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Japan totaled -1.9%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: South Korea (+5.4% per year) and China (+1.0% per year).
