Baryte Market Size in Eastern Asia

In 2021, the East Asian baryte market decreased by -19.9% to $X for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total consumption indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the last nine-year period. In 2021, overseas purchases of barytes decreased by -23.4% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after three years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 102%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, baryte imports contracted to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern.
