In value terms, the largest cored arc-welding wire importing markets in Eastern Asia were China ($X), Japan ($X) and South Korea ($X), with a combined 89% share of total imports. Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan (Chinese) lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 11%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Hong Kong SAR, with a CAGR of +11.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.

The import price in Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 7.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a pronounced reduction.
