Hong Kong SAR (X units) held a 23% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Taiwan (Chinese) (12%), China (11%) and Japan (7.3%).
South Korea was also the fastest-growing in terms of the bottles, jars and other containers of glass imports, with a CAGR of +12.4% from 2012 to 2021. Among the main importing countries, South Korea, with a CAGR of +14.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Eastern Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, increasing by 7.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the import price increased by 12% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.
