In value terms, the largest camel-back strips supplying countries in Eastern Asia were China ($X), Japan ($X) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), together accounting for 97% of total exports.
Taiwan (Chinese), with a CAGR of +97.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 27% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 33%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per ton), while South Korea ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

For the fourth year in a row, Eastern Asia recorded decline in supplies from abroad of camel-back strips for retreading rubber tires, which decreased by -3.6% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports faced a deep slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 7.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, camel-back strips imports totaled $X in 2021. Overall, imports showed a dramatic contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 15%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Hong Kong SAR was the major importing country with an import of around X tons, which recorded 45% of total imports. China (X tons) took a 23% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by South Korea (23%) and Japan (5.9%). The following importers - Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) and Democratic People's Republic of Korea (X tons) - each reached a 3.9% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Democratic People's Republic of Korea (with a CAGR of +9.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
In value terms, the largest camel-back strips importing markets in Eastern Asia were Hong Kong SAR ($X), South Korea ($X) and China ($X), with a combined 90% share of total imports. Japan, Taiwan (Chinese) and Democratic People's Republic of Korea lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 10%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, with a CAGR of +6.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 6.5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the import price increased by 9.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton), while Hong Kong SAR ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Democratic People's Republic of Korea (-2.5%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
