Exports by Country

China (X units) represented roughly 99% of total exports in 2022.

China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of chandeliers. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) also remains the largest chandelier supplier in Eastern Asia.

In China, chandelier exports increased at an average annual rate of +23.4% over the period from 2020-2022.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Eastern Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, with an increase of 13% against the previous year. Export price indicated significant growth from 2020 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +23.9% over the last two-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, chandelier export price increased by +53.4% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the export price increased by 35%. In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of chandeliers, when their volume increased by 43% to X units. In general, imports recorded a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 60% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, chandelier imports reduced to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 14% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then contracted in the following year.

Imports by Country

Japan represented the main importing country with an import of about X units, which recorded 48% of total imports. It was distantly followed by South Korea (X units), Taiwan (Chinese) (X units), Hong Kong SAR (X units) and China (X units), together constituting a 49% share of total imports. The following importers - Macao SAR (X units) and Democratic People's Republic of Korea (X units) - each recorded a 3.6% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Democratic People's Republic of Korea (with a CAGR of +39.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest chandelier importing markets in Eastern Asia were Japan ($X), South Korea ($X) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), together accounting for 84% of total imports. Hong Kong SAR, China, Macao SAR and Democratic People's Republic of Korea lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 16%.

Democratic People's Republic of Korea, with a CAGR of +28.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in Eastern Asia amounted to $X per unit, dropping by -34.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a abrupt descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 113%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in South Korea ($X per unit) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per unit), while Macao SAR ($X per unit) and Democratic People's Republic of Korea ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (-7.5%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
