Over the period under review, exports recorded a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 273% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, wood dryer exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, exports saw a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by 197%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

China dominates exports structure, amounting to X units, which was approx. 92% of total exports in 2021. Taiwan (Chinese) (X units) and Japan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

China was also the fastest-growing in terms of the dryers for wood, paper pulp, paper or paperboard exports, with a CAGR of +10.6% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Japan (+2.4%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+2.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest wood dryer supplier in Eastern Asia, comprising 91% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), with a 4.8% share of total exports.

In China, wood dryer exports expanded at an average annual rate of +15.3% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Taiwan (Chinese) (-1.8% per year) and Japan (-8.2% per year).

Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a pronounced slump. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, wood dryer imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

China represented the main importing country with an import of about X units, which accounted for 51% of total imports. Japan (X units) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Hong Kong SAR (X units). All these countries together took approx. 42% share of total imports. South Korea (X units) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

In China, wood dryer imports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Japan (+4.2% per year) and Hong Kong SAR (-7.1% per year).
