Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -4.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a mild contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the export price increased by 19%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton), while China totaled $X per ton.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of egg products was finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Imports by Country
Japan was the main importer of egg products in Eastern Asia, with the volume of imports reaching X tons, which was near 71% of total imports in 2021. Hong Kong SAR (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by South Korea (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 24% share of total imports. Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.
Imports into Japan increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, South Korea (+5.1%) and Hong Kong SAR (+2.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, South Korea emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +5.1% from 2012-2021. Taiwan (Chinese) experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of South Korea (+3 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Japan (-3.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Japan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported egg products in Eastern Asia, comprising 73% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Hong Kong SAR ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by South Korea, with a 9.8% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Japan was relatively modest. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Hong Kong SAR (+5.1% per year) and South Korea (+4.3% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 8.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the import price increased by 23%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Hong Kong SAR ($X per ton) and Japan ($X per ton), while South Korea ($X per ton) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+3.5%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
