In 2021, the East Asian gas and smoke analyser market decreased by -22.2% to $X, falling for the second consecutive year after eight years of growth. In general, consumption, however, recorded prominent growth. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the export price increased by 4.4%. Imports in Eastern Asia

Gas and smoke analyser imports surged to X units in 2021, rising by 32% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports posted prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 86%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, gas and smoke analyser imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +9.7% over the last nine-year period. Among the main importing countries, South Korea, with a CAGR of +17.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Eastern Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, declining by -7.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a pronounced contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 25%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per unit), while China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
