The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, fireclay imports shrank rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 155% against the previous year. Import price indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last nine-year period.
