The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives exports soared to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated tangible growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

China dominates exports structure, amounting to X tons, which was near 93% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Japan (X tons), achieving a 5.4% share of total exports.

The export price in Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 8.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a mild setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 16%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per ton), while China amounted to $X per ton.

Imports in Eastern Asia
Acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives imports expanded sharply to X tons in 2021, growing by 11% compared with the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 15%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Japan (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) were the key importers of fluorinated, brominated or iodinated derivatives of acyclic hydrocarbons in 2021, resulting at near 45% and 32% of total imports, respectively. It was distantly followed by Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) and China (X tons), together making up a 19% share of total imports. Hong Kong SAR (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, China, with a CAGR of +13.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the import price in Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, growing by 15% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the import price increased by 19% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while Hong Kong SAR ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
