In 2022, the East Asian gin and geneva market decreased by -2.2% to $X, falling for the third consecutive year after four years of growth. Over the period under review, consumption, however, showed a resilient expansion. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, overseas shipments of gin and geneva increased by 25% to X litres, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, exports showed a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 77%. The volume of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, gin and geneva exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, exports posted a significant expansion.
