Taiwan (Chinese) (+3.2 p.p.) and South Korea (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Hong Kong SAR and China saw its share reduced by -2% and -3.6% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported horizontal machining centres for working metal in Eastern Asia, comprising 86% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by South Korea ($X), with a 4.5% share of total imports. It was followed by Taiwan (Chinese), with a 4.1% share.
In China, horizontal machining centre imports decreased by an average annual rate of -8.0% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: South Korea (-6.2% per year) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+5.3% per year).
