In 2021, the East Asian ketone and quinone market increased by 3.4% to $X, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. Overall, consumption, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2018; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.

In value terms, ketone and quinone exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In China, ketone and quinone exports expanded at an average annual rate of +6.5% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Japan (+3.0% per year) and Taiwan (Chinese) (-4.2% per year).

In 2021, the export price in Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
