South Korea (-9.2%), Taiwan (Chinese) (-10.7%) and Japan (-13.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Taiwan (Chinese) (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while China saw its share reduced by -3.5% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported machinery for making pulp of fibrous cellulosic material in Eastern Asia, comprising 94% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Japan ($X), with a 1.9% share of total imports. It was followed by Taiwan (Chinese), with a 1.7% share.

In China, cellulose pulp machinery imports decreased by an average annual rate of -8.4% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Japan (-19.5% per year) and Taiwan (Chinese) (-18.7% per year).
