As a result, the exports attained the peak of X cubic meters. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, sawnwood (non-coniferous) exports fell to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 24%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

China prevails in exports structure, recording X cubic meters, which was approx. 90% of total exports in 2022. South Korea (X cubic meters), Taiwan (Chinese) (X cubic meters) and Japan (X cubic meters) took a relatively small share of total exports.
Exports from China decreased at an average annual rate of -5.1% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, South Korea (+11.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, South Korea emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +11.0% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Japan (-7.6%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (-14.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+20 p.p.) and South Korea (+3.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Taiwan (Chinese) saw its share reduced by -3.1% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest sawnwood (non-coniferous) supplier in Eastern Asia, comprising 90% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), with a 3.5% share of total exports. It was followed by South Korea, with a 3.4% share.
In China, sawnwood (non-coniferous) exports plunged by an average annual rate of -5.7% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Taiwan (Chinese) (-15.0% per year) and South Korea (+9.1% per year).
Export Prices by Country

Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 38% against the previous year. Total imports indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +2.2% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 42% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X cubic meters in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, sawnwood (non-coniferous) imports expanded rapidly to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +18.7% against 2020 indices.
