Moreover, Russia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +24.7% from 2012-2021. Estonia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Poland (+15 p.p.), Russia (+3.5 p.p.) and Belarus (+2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Estonia saw its share reduced by -9.7% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Poland ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported X-oxydiethanol (diethylene glycol, digol) in Eastern Europe, comprising 54% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Estonia ($X), with an 8.7% share of total imports. It was followed by Lithuania, with an 8.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Poland stood at +14.1%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Estonia (+0.6% per year) and Lithuania (+8.5% per year).
