In general, exports faced a deep reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 409%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, aircraft launching gear exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports saw a sharp reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 104%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Ukraine was the key exporting country with an export of around X tons, which finished at 63% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Latvia (X kg), Slovakia (X kg) and Estonia (X kg), together generating a 32% share of total exports. The Czech Republic (X kg) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Slovakia, with a CAGR of +392.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 135% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 355%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2017 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Lithuania (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an 18% share, followed by Bulgaria (12%) and Estonia (10%). Slovakia (X kg), Romania (X kg) and Ukraine (X kg) took a little share of total imports.

In value terms, Latvia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported aircraft launching gear, deck-arrestor or similar gear and parts thereof in Eastern Europe, comprising 47% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Slovakia ($X), with a 20% share of total imports. It was followed by Lithuania, with a 9.5% share.

In Latvia, aircraft launching gear imports expanded at an average annual rate of +62.8% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Slovakia (-7.8% per year) and Lithuania (-2.4% per year).

In 2021, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, declining by -10.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 29%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
