Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 118% against the previous year. In 2022, the Czech Republic (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons) represented the major exporters of reservoirs, tanks, vats and similar containers, of aluminium, capacity exceeding 300l, without mechanical or thermal equipment in Eastern Europe, together making up 73% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Slovakia (X tons) and Poland (X tons), together committing a 22% share of total exports. Hungary (X tons) and Romania (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Among the main exporting countries, Bulgaria, with a CAGR of +61.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, jumping by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 39% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per ton), while Bulgaria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+3.0%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in Eastern Europe
In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of reservoirs, tanks, vats and similar containers, of aluminium, capacity exceeding 300l, without mechanical or thermal equipment, when their volume decreased by -31.2% to X tons. In general, imports, however, recorded a perceptible expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 76% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of attained the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then fell remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, imports of reservoirs, tanks, vats and similar containers, of aluminium, capacity exceeding 300l, without mechanical or thermal equipment dropped notably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a mild expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 92% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.
Imports by Country
Russia represented the main importer of reservoirs, tanks, vats and similar containers, of aluminium, capacity exceeding 300l, without mechanical or thermal equipment in Eastern Europe, with the volume of imports amounting to X tons, which was near 44% of total imports in 2022. Poland (X tons) held a 14% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Bulgaria (13%), Hungary (6.3%) and Romania (5.8%). Belarus (X tons) and Latvia (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to reservoirs, tanks, vats and similar containers, of aluminium, capacity exceeding 300l, without mechanical or thermal equipment imports into Russia stood at +5.6%. At the same time, Bulgaria (+44.5%), Latvia (+24.1%), Hungary (+10.7%) and Belarus (+7.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bulgaria emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +44.5% from 2012-2022. Poland experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Romania (-4.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Bulgaria (+13 p.p.), Russia (+5.4 p.p.), Hungary (+2.9 p.p.) and Latvia (+2.9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Poland and Romania saw its share reduced by -6.5% and -8.7% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X), Poland ($X) and Romania ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together accounting for 71% of total imports. Belarus, Hungary, Bulgaria and Latvia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 16%.
Among the main importing countries, Bulgaria, with a CAGR of +32.0%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, reducing by -14.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the import price increased by 42%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per ton), while Bulgaria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Latvia (+4.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
