In 2021, the East European ammonium chloride market increased by 31% to $X for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year declining trend. Over the period under review, consumption, however, recorded a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the export price increased by 54% against the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, ammonium chloride imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% over the last nine-year period. Based on 2021 figures, ammonium chloride import price increased by +85.5% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 28% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
