Aniline Market Size in Eastern Europe

The East European aniline market was finally on the rise to reach $X in 2021, after three years of decline. Overall, consumption, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, consumption remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, aniline production expanded notably to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. In general, production saw a noticeable setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 11% against the previous year. In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of aniline and its salts (excluding derivatives), when their volume decreased by -7.5% to X tons. In general, exports saw a slight contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when exports increased by 20% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, aniline exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports saw a noticeable descent. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The Czech Republic prevails in exports structure, recording X tons, which was near 98% of total exports in 2021. Hungary (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X) remains the largest aniline supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 99% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Hungary ($X), with a 1.5% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the Czech Republic amounted to -3.3%.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 72% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a mild downturn. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while Hungary amounted to $X per ton.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+1.0%).

Imports in Eastern Europe

After two years of growth, purchases abroad of aniline and its salts (excluding derivatives) decreased by -4.1% to X tons in 2021. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 19%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Slovakia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Russia (-2.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Hungary increased by +7.5 percentage points.
