As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Russia.

In 2021, overseas purchases of antimony ores and concentrates were finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. Overall, imports saw a noticeable expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 104%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, antimony ore and concentrate imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +113.0% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 75%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Ukraine prevails in imports structure, amounting to X tons, which was approx. 88% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by the Czech Republic (X tons), achieving a 9.4% share of total imports. Romania (X tons) held a relatively small share of total imports.

Ukraine was also the fastest-growing in terms of the antimony ores and concentrates imports, with a CAGR of +54.0% from 2012 to 2021. Romania (-4.9%) and the Czech Republic (-17.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Ukraine (+86 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Romania (-2.3 p.p.) and the Czech Republic (-59.2 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Ukraine ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported antimony ores and concentrates in Eastern Europe, comprising 86% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Czech Republic ($X), with a 13% share of total imports.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while Romania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+3.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
