Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, declining by -6.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the export price increased by 61% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ukraine (+16.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Eastern Europe

In 2022, supplies from abroad of articles of graphite or other carbon for electrical purposes was finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, carbon for electrical purposes imports declined significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 10% against the previous year.
