The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 8.6% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

The following importers - Ukraine (X tons), Belarus (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) - together made up 8.6% of total imports.
Imports into the Czech Republic increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Romania (+8.7%), Belarus (+6.1%), Russia (+3.3%) and Poland (+2.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Romania emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +8.7% from 2012-2022. Ukraine experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Hungary (-5.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Romania and Russia increased by +3 and +2.4 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported artificial guts (sausage skins) in Eastern Europe, comprising 49% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Russia ($X), with a 21% share of total imports. It was followed by Poland, with a 10% share.
