Poland prevails in exports structure, accounting for X tons, which was near 65% of total exports in 2022. The Czech Republic (X tons) held a 7.8% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Russia (7.8%), Hungary (6.8%) and Slovakia (5.7%). Romania (X tons) took a relatively small share of total exports.

Exports from Poland increased at an average annual rate of +17.4% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Hungary (+29.8%), Russia (+11.8%) and the Czech Republic (+5.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Hungary emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +29.8% from 2012-2022. Slovakia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Romania (-5.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Poland (+30 p.p.) and Hungary (+5.4 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the Czech Republic, Romania and Slovakia saw its share reduced by -4.2%, -6.9% and -9.9% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest baby clothes supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 71% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Czech Republic ($X), with a 7.1% share of total exports. It was followed by Russia, with a 6.2% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Poland amounted to +18.4%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Czech Republic (+8.7% per year) and Russia (+15.0% per year).

Total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +120.4% against 2012 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 27% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.8% over the last decade.
