Bulgaria (X tons) remains the largest bambara bean producing country in Eastern Europe, comprising approx. 85% of total volume. The third position in this ranking was held by Slovakia (X tons), with a 4.1% share.

Bambara bean exports skyrocketed to X tons in 2022, jumping by 20% against the year before. In general, exports enjoyed a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 378%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, bambara bean exports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 301%. Imports in Eastern Europe

After two years of decline, overseas purchases of bambara beans increased by 63% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 1,553%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, bambara bean imports surged to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a slight decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 744%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
