The Czech Republic (X tons) held a 6.2% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Ukraine (4.7%). The following exporters - Latvia (X tons), Belarus (X tons), Lithuania (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons) - together made up 12% of total exports.

Exports from Russia increased at an average annual rate of +6.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Latvia (+62.0%), Slovakia (+32.1%), Belarus (+3.7%) and Ukraine (+1.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Latvia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +62.0% from 2012-2022. Lithuania experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the Czech Republic (-4.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Russia, Latvia and Slovakia increased by +9.1, +3.7 and +1.7 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest beet-pulp and bagasse supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 73% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Latvia ($X), with a 6.5% share of total exports. It was followed by the Czech Republic, with a 6.2% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Russia stood at +6.0%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Latvia (+71.1% per year) and the Czech Republic (-1.1% per year).

In 2022, supplies from abroad of beet-pulp and bagasse was finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports showed resilient growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
