At the same time, the Czech Republic (+37.8%), Russia (+18.9%) and Belarus (+18.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest board, sheet, panel, tile and similar article of plaster not faced supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 65% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Czech Republic ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by Belarus, with a 9.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Poland totaled +34.6%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Czech Republic (+32.8% per year) and Belarus (+18.7% per year).

In 2021, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per square meter, rising by 12% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the export price increased by 49%. The level of export peaked at $X per square meter in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per square meter), while Belarus ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+7.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Eastern Europe
In 2021, after nine years of growth, there was decline in purchases abroad of boards, sheets, panels, tiles and similar articles of plaster not faced, when their volume decreased by -0.1% to X square meters. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 27%. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs at X square meters in 2020, and then shrank modestly in the following year.
In value terms, imports of boards, sheets, panels, tiles and similar articles of plaster not faced expanded notably to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +130.1% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 27% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In 2021, Poland (X square meters) was the key importer of boards, sheets, panels, tiles and similar articles of plaster not faced, mixing up 41% of total imports. The Czech Republic (X square meters) took a 19% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Russia (14%) and Hungary (7.6%). Belarus (X square meters), Latvia (X square meters) and Lithuania (X square meters) took a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to board, sheet, panel, tile and similar article of plaster not faced imports into Poland stood at +18.2%. At the same time, Latvia (+32.5%), Lithuania (+28.2%), Russia (+11.0%), Hungary (+10.9%), Belarus (+8.6%) and the Czech Republic (+4.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Latvia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +32.5% from 2012-2021. While the share of Poland (+16 p.p.), Latvia (+3.2 p.p.) and Lithuania (+1.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of the Czech Republic (-15.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Poland ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and Russia ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 67% share of total imports. Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia and Belarus lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 22%.
Lithuania, with a CAGR of +26.3%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per square meter, with an increase of 9.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a pronounced shrinkage. The level of import peaked at $X per square meter in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($X per square meter), while Poland ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+0.1%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
