Cadmium Market Size in Eastern Europe

The East European cadmium market was finally on the rise to reach $X in 2022, after three years of decline. Overall, consumption saw a buoyant expansion. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, the amount of cadmium exported in Eastern Europe declined markedly to X tons, falling by -36.5% on 2021. Over the period under review, exports saw a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 103%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, cadmium exports contracted dramatically to $X in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a deep reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 128% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of cadmium increased by 10% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year declining trend. In general, imports enjoyed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 17,586% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, cadmium imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 3,350% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The purchases of the one major importers of cadmium, namely Russia, represented more than two-thirds of total import.
