It was distantly followed by the Czech Republic (X tons), Russia (X tons), Romania (X tons), Bulgaria (X tons) and Lithuania (X tons), together making up a 49% share of total imports. Slovakia (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.
Imports into Poland increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Lithuania (+6.3%) and Romania (+5.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Lithuania emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +6.3% from 2012-2022. The Czech Republic experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Slovakia (-1.5%), Bulgaria (-2.0%) and Russia (-2.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Poland (+5.1 p.p.), Romania (+3.6 p.p.) and Lithuania (+1.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Bulgaria (-2.3 p.p.), the Czech Republic (-2.6 p.p.) and Russia (-5.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Poland ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported casein glues and caseinates and other casein derivatives in Eastern Europe, comprising 44% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Romania ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Bulgaria, with a 9.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Poland totaled +5.0%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Romania (+13.3% per year) and Bulgaria (+8.5% per year).
Import Prices by Country
