By contrast, Lithuania (-4.7%), the Czech Republic (-10.3%) and Hungary (-18.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Russia (+16 p.p.) and Bulgaria (+2.9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Hungary and Poland saw its share reduced by -7.4% and -16% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest cationic surface-active agents (excl. soap) supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 47% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Russia ($X), with an 18% share of total exports. It was followed by Hungary, with a 15% share.
