In general, exports showed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 65%. The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, centrifugal clothes-dryer exports soared to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +55.0% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In 2021, Poland (X units), Russia (X units) and Romania (X units) represented the key exporter of centrifugal clothes-dryers in Eastern Europe, generating 73% of total export. Lithuania (X units) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 10% share, followed by Hungary (8.7%) and Slovakia (4.5%). Moldova (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

In 2021, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, declining by -26.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 41%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2020 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+2.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in Eastern Europe

For the third consecutive year, Eastern Europe recorded growth in supplies from abroad of centrifugal clothes-dryers, which increased by 21% to X units in 2021. Overall, imports enjoyed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 61%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, centrifugal clothes-dryer imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 50%. In value terms, Romania ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported centrifugal clothes-dryers in Eastern Europe, comprising 58% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Lithuania ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Hungary, with a 5.8% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Romania amounted to +36.6%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Lithuania (+14.2% per year) and Hungary (+28.1% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, which is down by -1.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 12%.
