Romania (X tons) and Poland (X tons) represented roughly 64% of total exports in 2021. The Czech Republic (X tons) held an 11% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Belarus (9.6%). Slovakia (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Belarus (with a CAGR of +12.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest ceramic household article supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 43% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Czech Republic ($X), with a 21% share of total exports. It was followed by Romania, with a 17% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Poland amounted to +10.7%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Czech Republic (+1.1% per year) and Romania (+2.5% per year).

Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 40% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, ceramic household article imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 48%.
