The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, citrus fruit jams and marmalades exports shrank dramatically to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 68%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then fell dramatically in the following year.

Poland (X tons) and Russia (X tons) represented roughly 70% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons), together making up a 23% share of total exports. Hungary (X tons) took a minor share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +29.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Poland ($X), Russia ($X) and Belarus ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 79% share of total exports.

Russia, with a CAGR of +22.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, shrinking by -7.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a slight curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 9.5%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bulgaria ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, overseas purchases of citrus fruit jams, marmalades, jellies, purees or pastes decreased by -11.4% to X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 37%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, surging by 6.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 17%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($X per ton), while Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
