The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 183% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, coconut imports fell modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 242%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. Imports by Country

Russia dominates imports structure, reaching X tons, which was approx. 51% of total imports in 2022. The Czech Republic (X tons) took a 9.6% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Lithuania (8.5%), Poland (8.4%), Ukraine (7.2%) and Romania (5.1%). Belarus (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Russia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the coconuts imports, with a CAGR of +8.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, the Czech Republic (+6.2%), Belarus (+5.1%), Bulgaria (+4.1%), Ukraine (+2.7%) and Romania (+2.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Poland experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Lithuania (-9.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Russia and the Czech Republic increased by +21 and +2.7 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported coconuts in Eastern Europe, comprising 34% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Poland ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by the Czech Republic, with a 13% share.

In Russia, coconut imports increased at an average annual rate of +9.8% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+9.2% per year) and the Czech Republic (+10.5% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -2.5% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.9%.
