Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, copper screw exports surged to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
In 2021, Poland (X tons) represented the largest exporter of copper screws, bolts and nuts, achieving 41% of total exports. It was distantly followed by the Czech Republic (X tons), Slovakia (X tons), Ukraine (X tons), Hungary (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Lithuania (X tons), together making up a 51% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to copper screw exports from Poland stood at +3.0%. At the same time, Lithuania (+14.6%), Slovakia (+12.3%), Russia (+6.4%), the Czech Republic (+1.9%) and Hungary (+1.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Lithuania emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +14.6% from 2012-2021. Ukraine experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of Slovakia (+7.9 p.p.), Poland (+7.7 p.p.), Lithuania (+3.2 p.p.), Russia (+2 p.p.) and the Czech Republic (+1.7 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Poland ($X), the Czech Republic ($X) and Slovakia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 69% share of total exports. Hungary, Russia, Lithuania and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 26%.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Lithuania, with a CAGR of +17.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, surging by 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a temperate increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 46%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per ton), while Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+5.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Eastern Europe
In 2021, copper screw imports in Eastern Europe skyrocketed to X tons, rising by 22% on 2020 figures. Total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.3% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +105.5% against 2012 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, copper screw imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +32.2% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
The countries with the highest levels of copper screw imports in 2021 were Slovakia (X tons), Romania (X tons), Bulgaria (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Poland (X tons), together resulting at 84% of total import. Hungary (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Russia (X tons). All these countries together held near 11% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovakia (with a CAGR of +15.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the Czech Republic ($X), Slovakia ($X) and Poland ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 57% of total imports.
Slovakia, with a CAGR of +28.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 4.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 11% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2021, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while Romania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+11.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
