The East European truck crane market soared to $X in 2021, increasing by 26% against the previous year. In general, consumption, however, continues to indicate a perceptible descent. In 2021, the amount of truck cranes exported in Eastern Europe soared to X units, jumping by 56% compared with 2020. In general, exports, however, saw a deep slump. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, truck crane exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible decrease. The level of export peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Poland (X units) and Belarus (X units) represented the major exporters of truck cranes in 2021, accounting for approx. 38% and 34% of total exports, respectively. The Czech Republic (X units) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Hungary (X units). All these countries together took near 17% share of total exports. The following exporters - Russia (X units) and Romania (X units) - together made up 6.7% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +12.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Russia ($X), Belarus ($X) and Poland ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together accounting for 84% of total exports. The Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 13%.

The Czech Republic, with a CAGR of +14.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 5.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the export price increased by 35%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Hungary ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 85%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.

From 2012 to 2021, the share of Ukraine, Poland and Hungary increased by +8.3, +8.3 and +5 percentage points, respectively.
