The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when exports increased by 204% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, crude coconut oil exports declined dramatically to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 526%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

The Czech Republic (X tons), Hungary (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Lithuania (X tons) represented roughly 80% of total exports in 2022. Slovakia (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 9.6% share, followed by Russia (5.3%). Bulgaria (X tons) took a relatively small share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Hungary (with a CAGR of +164.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Lithuania ($X), Poland ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together comprising 68% of total exports. Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 28%.

Among the main exporting countries, Hungary, with a CAGR of +159.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, falling by -14.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 106%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

After two years of growth, overseas purchases of crude coconut (copra) oil decreased by -51.5% to X tons in 2022. In general, imports saw a abrupt descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 100%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, crude coconut oil imports declined to $X in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 96% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

The countries with the highest levels of crude coconut oil imports in 2022 were Slovakia (X tons), Estonia (X tons), Ukraine (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Lithuania (X tons), Russia (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Hungary (X tons), together recording 92% of total import.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovakia (with a CAGR of +43.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Estonia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported crude coconut (copra) oil in Eastern Europe, comprising 34% of total imports.
