Among the main exporting countries, Romania, with a CAGR of +39.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, surging by 9.7% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.5%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the export price increased by 62% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+17.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Eastern Europe
After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of dental cements and bone reconstruction cements decreased by -36.9% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a measured increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 51% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, medical reconstruction cements imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Russia (X tons), distantly followed by Poland (X tons), Romania (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) represented the key importers of dental cements and bone reconstruction cements, together committing 80% of total imports. Slovakia (X tons), Bulgaria (X tons), Lithuania (X tons), Belarus (X tons), Latvia (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
