The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

The countries with the highest levels of driving and non-driving axle imports in 2021 were the Czech Republic (X tons), Russia (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons), together finishing at 82% of total import. It was distantly followed by Hungary (X tons) and Romania (X tons), together creating a 15% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Hungary (with a CAGR of +16.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest driving and non-driving axle importing markets in Eastern Europe were the Czech Republic ($X), Russia ($X) and Poland ($X), with a combined 63% share of total imports. Slovakia, Hungary and Romania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 34%.
