In value terms, electric oven and cooker production contracted to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 12%. The level of production peaked at $X in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

In 2022, after ten years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of electric ovens, cookers, cooking plates, boiling rings, grillers and roasters, when their volume decreased by -19.5% to X units. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 28% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2021, and then dropped significantly in the following year.

In value terms, electric oven and cooker exports shrank to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +66.9% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 27%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

Exports by Country

Poland represented the main exporter of electric ovens, cookers, cooking plates, boiling rings, grillers and roasters in Eastern Europe, with the volume of exports reaching X units, which was approx. 55% of total exports in 2022. The Czech Republic (X units) took a 13% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Romania (10%), Slovakia (7.9%) and Russia (5.8%). Belarus (X units) and Hungary (X units) held a minor share of total exports.

Exports from Poland increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Slovakia (+17.8%), Romania (+13.7%), the Czech Republic (+12.6%), Russia (+6.5%) and Hungary (+3.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Slovakia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +17.8% from 2012-2022. Belarus experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. The Czech Republic (+4.6 p.p.), Slovakia (+4.6 p.p.) and Romania (+4.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Belarus and Poland saw its share reduced by -3.8% and -4.2% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest electric oven and cooker supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 63% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Romania ($X), with a 9.6% share of total exports. It was followed by the Czech Republic, with an 8.5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Poland stood at +4.3%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Romania (+9.2% per year) and the Czech Republic (+8.1% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, increasing by 7% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a pronounced curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the export price increased by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per unit), while Hungary ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (+8.0%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in Eastern Europe

In 2022, electric oven and cooker imports in Eastern Europe shrank to X units, with a decrease of -6.8% against the previous year. Total imports indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +93.2% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 28%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, electric oven and cooker imports fell to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +80.7% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 26% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then dropped in the following year.

Imports by Country

Russia represented the main importer of electric ovens, cookers, cooking plates, boiling rings, grillers and roasters in Eastern Europe, with the volume of imports finishing at X units, which was approx. 39% of total imports in 2022. Poland (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 17% share, followed by the Czech Republic (14%), Ukraine (6.9%), Slovakia (4.8%) and Hungary (4.7%). Romania (X units) took a relatively small share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to electric oven and cooker imports into Russia stood at +3.3%. At the same time, Slovakia (+11.5%), Hungary (+11.1%), Romania (+8.8%), the Czech Republic (+6.7%), Poland (+4.3%) and Ukraine (+2.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Slovakia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +11.5% from 2012-2022. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary increased by +2.2, +2.1 and +2.1 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest electric oven and cooker importing markets in Eastern Europe were Russia ($X), Poland ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X), with a combined 68% share of total imports. Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 19%.

Romania, with a CAGR of +12.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, declining by -5.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a slight downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 7.6% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per unit), while Ukraine ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
