In general, exports, however, recorded a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 41%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, electric heating equipment exports rose slightly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 39%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Exports by Country

The shipments of the three major exporters of electric space heating apparatus and soil heating apparatus, namely Poland, the Czech Republic and Lithuania, represented more than half of total export. Ukraine (X units) ranks next in terms of the total exports with an 8.7% share, followed by Russia (8.6%) and Romania (5.4%). Bulgaria (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Romania (with a CAGR of +10.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2022, surging by 9.8% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 10%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per unit), while Lithuania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (+6.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +44.1% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 33% against the previous year. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the import price increased by 21% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
