In general, exports, however, saw a noticeable reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 18% against the previous year. In value terms, calculator exports shrank to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -28.7% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 33% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Poland (X units) and the Czech Republic (X units) were the key exporters of electronic calculators and pocket-size data recording, reproducing and displaying machines with calculating functions in Eastern Europe, together accounting for near 59% of total exports. Belarus (X units) took a 17% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Hungary (11%) and Russia (7.2%). The following exporters - Latvia (X units) and Slovakia (X units) - each recorded a 4.3% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Belarus (with a CAGR of +20.5%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, waning by -13.4% against the previous year. Export price indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, calculator export price decreased by -22.9% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 39% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, approx. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a slight contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 23%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, calculator imports stood at $X in 2021. In general, imports saw a mild increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 20% against the previous year. In 2021, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, falling by -11.2% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.2%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 35% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
