The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -31.9% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 87%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, electronic material tester exports fell dramatically to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -24.2% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by 37%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Poland (X units) was the main exporter of electronic machines and appliances for testing materials, mixing up 37% of total exports. Lithuania (X units) held a 16% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Russia (14%), the Czech Republic (11%), Belarus (4.9%), Romania (4.6%) and Ukraine (4.5%).
Poland was also the fastest-growing in terms of the electronic machines and appliances for testing materials exports, with a CAGR of +15.8% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, the Czech Republic (+5.7%), Lithuania (+5.7%) and Romania (+1.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Russia (-4.9%), Belarus (-4.9%) and Ukraine (-5.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Poland (+26 p.p.), Lithuania (+4.8 p.p.) and the Czech Republic (+3.2 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Belarus (-4.1 p.p.), Ukraine (-4.6 p.p.) and Russia (-11.6 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest electronic material tester supplying countries in Eastern Europe were Poland ($X), Russia ($X) and Lithuania ($X), with a combined 73% share of total exports.
Poland, with a CAGR of +17.2%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -2.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the export price increased by 31% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2020, and then fell modestly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+12.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Eastern Europe
In 2021, imports of electronic machines and appliances for testing materials in Eastern Europe fell slightly to X units, which is down by -3.1% against 2020. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 27%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, electronic material tester imports shrank to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a slight contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 37% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Russia (X units) represented the main importer of electronic machines and appliances for testing materials, achieving 37% of total imports. Romania (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Poland (X units), the Czech Republic (X units), Ukraine (X units) and Hungary (X units). All these countries together took near 50% share of total imports. Lithuania (X units) held a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to electronic material tester imports into Russia stood at -3.4%. At the same time, Lithuania (+16.9%), Ukraine (+10.2%), Romania (+6.7%), the Czech Republic (+4.7%) and Hungary (+1.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Lithuania emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +16.9% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Poland (-1.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Romania (+6.8 p.p.), Ukraine (+3.5 p.p.), Lithuania (+2.8 p.p.) and the Czech Republic (+2.3 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Poland (-3.6 p.p.) and Russia (-15.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X), Poland ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 69% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Romania, Hungary, Ukraine and Lithuania, which together accounted for a further 22%.
Lithuania, with a CAGR of +10.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, reducing by -3.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a mild contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 20%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while Romania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
