The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 18%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2020, and then declined modestly in the following year.
In value terms, scaffolding, shuttering, and propping equipment exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +82.4% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
Exports by Country
In 2021, Poland (X tons) was the key exporter of equipment for scaffolding, shuttering, propping or pit propping, constituting 45% of total exports. The Czech Republic (X tons) took a 16% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Russia (14%), Romania (5.2%) and Latvia (5.1%). The following exporters - Hungary (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) - each finished at a 6.2% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to scaffolding, shuttering, and propping equipment exports from Poland stood at +6.3%. At the same time, Russia (+21.9%) and Latvia (+3.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Russia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +21.9% from 2012-2021. Romania experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the Czech Republic (-2.8%), Ukraine (-6.9%) and Hungary (-12.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest scaffolding, shuttering, and propping equipment supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising 48% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Czech Republic ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Russia, with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Poland totaled +7.1%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Czech Republic (+0.3% per year) and Russia (+25.6% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, jumping by 20% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.4%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per ton), while Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+3.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Scaffolding, shuttering, and propping equipment imports stood at X tons in 2021, increasing by 4.6% compared with the year before. Total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +54.7% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 24% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, scaffolding, shuttering, and propping equipment imports surged to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 40%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Poland (X tons) was the largest importer of equipment for scaffolding, shuttering, propping or pit propping, committing 33% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Russia (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Romania (X tons), Lithuania (X tons), Slovakia (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons), together creating a 56% share of total imports.

Bulgaria, with a CAGR of +21.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 23% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Hungary ($X per ton) and the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while Poland ($X per ton) and Bulgaria ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
