The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +7.0% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 23% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, exports of flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with fittings amounted to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 23% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.
Exports by Country
The Czech Republic was the major exporter of flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with fittings in Eastern Europe, with the volume of exports reaching X tons, which was near 41% of total exports in 2022. Slovakia (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Poland (X tons), Estonia (X tons) and Russia (X tons). All these countries together took near 46% share of total exports. Hungary (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Hungary (with a CAGR of +32.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 13% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the export price increased by 17%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per ton), while Hungary ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bulgaria (+10.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Eastern Europe
In 2022, overseas purchases of flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with fittings increased by 8.8% to X tons, rising for the sixth consecutive year after three years of decline. Total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +71.4% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 37% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, imports of flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with fittings contracted modestly to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 35%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced slightly in the following year.
Imports by Country
The Czech Republic represented the major importer of flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with fittings in Eastern Europe, with the volume of imports recording X tons, which was approx. 35% of total imports in 2022. Russia (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Lithuania (X tons), Hungary (X tons), Poland (X tons), Romania (X tons), Bulgaria (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons). All these countries together took near 60% share of total imports.
Imports into the Czech Republic increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Hungary (+22.4%), Lithuania (+18.8%), Romania (+10.6%), Slovakia (+3.8%), Russia (+1.9%) and Poland (+1.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Hungary emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of +22.4% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Bulgaria (-3.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Hungary, Lithuania, the Czech Republic and Romania increased by +7.2, +6.6, +4.8 and +3.3 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with fittings importing markets in Eastern Europe were the Czech Republic ($X), Russia ($X) and Poland ($X), together comprising 56% of total imports. Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and Bulgaria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 38%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Lithuania, with a CAGR of +29.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import price indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with fittings increased by +72.1% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the import price increased by 19% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while Bulgaria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
